IKIMASHO!

Shimokita Sundays

It’s barely been two weeks since I touched down in Tokyo but it seriously feels like I’ve been here for months. I guess it’s because I’ve crammed so much in during that time: starting a new job, meeting new people, intense training, getting to grips with the transport network, going out, drinking, eating, spending. My body hates me at the minute: I’m tired and run down, but training has finished so hopefully I can settle down into some sort of normal routine.

I’m kinda still recovering from an all-you-can-drink work party on Friday in Shibuya, so I was glad to have absolutely no plans today. It gave me a chance to explore my neighbourhood, Shimokitazawa. It’s sooo cute! So many little boutiques, cafes and retro shops. I’m so glad I decided to base myself here: a maze of pedestrian streets that twist and turn, inviting you to get lost and see what’s round the next corner…
