Meteorologically speaking (try saying that one pissed), Japan has been throwing a bit of a hissy fit of late. I was woken by quake rumblings last night, and extreme changes in weather fronts are causing storms that are blacking out parts of the country. Tokyo hasn’t been too badly affected, but yesterday saw one particular batch of thunder and lightning that had my 5-year-old students in tears. It reminded me of when I was that age – hiding behind the couch downstairs in my living room while lightning flashed outside and Knight Rider was on the TV.
I like it though. As long as I’m inside, the weather can do whatever the hell it wants. Right now I’m drinking a beer and raising my glass to Frank Mitchell, the weather-watching bastard.
This one goes out to James, Kris and Jim. MMC forever.
