Scandinavian Braindance powered by Neurosis and Shellac

After a debut full-length release on Rephlex, Norway’s Stian Gjevik (aka EOD) is back under his CN moniker – releasing 2xLP “Nu” just a few weeks ago on Belgium’s WeMe imprint. File under: [ Underwater / Electronic / Acid / Braindance / Electro]

To coincide with the release, I asked Stian to pick ten random YouTube videos for Ikimasho! Check out his choices and stream the awesome Anubis from his new album below.

“Japan is probably responsible for me getting into electronic music at all, and i couldn’t be happier about that. I’d love to go there some day. Thanks, Japan!”

1. Jaga Jazzist – Animal Chin

“One of very few norwegian artists/bands/whatever worth listening to. incredibly inspiring and a fantastic live show.”

2. Neurosis – End of the Harvest

“I just love Neurosis.”

3. Sylvia – Lay it on Me

“Picked up this record a little while ago, ridiculously good tune.”

4. Shellac – Killers & Wingwalker

“One of my favorite bands in my one of my favorite live videos.”

5. Wannabe rapper passes out after smoking weed

“Old classic.”

6. MOOG minimoog review

“Synth demo by the legendary (in my mind) Katsunori UJIIE. I could have picked any of these, they’re all fantastic, done by a true enthusiast and professional.”

7. TEISCO Teischord B-2 demo [organ69]

“Dodgy and brilliant.”

8. Pappachristos Bed and Breakfast

“Sadly he doesn’t seem to be doing videos anymore, thank fuck people archived these. best internet person ever.”

9. MST3K – Manos The Hands of Fate

“If you haven’t watched this, you probably should.”

10. Hanwei Practical XL Katana Unveiling

“Just more evidence that Japanese culture has a strange effect on certain westerners.”
