MIZONOKUCHI / 溝の口
Kawasaki fascinates me. Seemingly ‘cut off’ from the rest of Tokyo by the Tamagawa river, there seems to be some invisible force that always lets you know when you are there. It just feels like Kawasaki – a bit grimier; women walking about in bad make-up and crocs; virtually zero westerners. Kajigaya… Miyazakidai… Nakanoshima… An endless stream of stations that I have never even heard of, let alone visited. This is the best way to explore the Greater Tokyo area – simply pick a station on a map, with no clue what you are doing or where you are going, and just walk about. I’m looking forward to exploring more of these lesser-known stations in the coming months.
